Humble beginnings of Drona
Dronacharya is born to the sage Bharadwaja and grows up in poverty, despite being highly learned in warfare and scriptures.

Friendship and insult
As a young man, Drona befriends Drupada. Later, when Drona seeks help, Drupada rejects and humiliates him, deeply wounding his pride.

Royal teacher of princes
Drona becomes the guru of the Kuru princes, including the Pandavas and Kauravas, training them in archery and warfare.

Special bond with Arjuna
He recognizes Arjuna as his most talented student and helps him become the greatest archer of his time.

Revenge and tragic end
Drona uses his students to defeat Drupada and reclaim honor, but later dies in the Mahabharata war after being emotionally broken by the news of his son’s death.
